Installing an Application Package with Mathematica 4.2 or 5.0

Quit Mathematica if it is running and make sure no users are running Mathematica.

Mount the CD if necessary. You may need to have administrative privileges to mount the CD. A list of typical mount commands for various systems is given at http://support.wolfram.com/mathematica/systems/unix/general/mountingcd.html.

Change directories to /cdrom/Unix/Installer.

# cd /cdrom/Unix/Installer

Run ./AppInstaller.

# ./AppInstaller

Choose the installation directory. Press Enter to accept the default directory or type in another installation directory and press Enter.

The installer returns the message “Installation complete”. The application package is now installed and ready for use.

Each user must rebuild the Help Index by choosing Help > Rebuild Help Index the next time Mathematica is used. Help for the application will then appear in the Help Browser's Add-ons category.
