How do I install the NKS Explorer: Mathematica Kit with Mathematica 4.1.5 under Macintosh OS X?

1.

Quit Mathematica if it is running.

2.

Double click the application installer icon for the downloaded file, and click Continue in the dialog box that appears.

3.

Go to Select Folder. If you have administrator privileges, please select the following:

/Library/Mathematica/Applications

If you do not have administrative privileges or are installing the application for a single user, select the following:

~user/Library/Mathematica/4.1/AddOns/Applications

If the above directory is not on an HFS drive, the installer will not be able to locate the folder. In this case, you will need to install the application package to any accessible location. A folder named for the application package will then be created. This folder will need to be moved to:

~user/Library/Mathematica/4.1/AddOns/Applications

4.

Click Install to begin the process. After the installation has been completed, a screen will appear stating so, click OK to quit the installer.

5.

Open Mathematica and evaluate the following command in a notebook.

A fast loading .mx file will now be generated.

6.

Rebuild the Help Browser by going to the Help menu in Mathematica, and select Rebuild Help Index. The Help Browser will open once it has been rebuilt. Go to the Add-ons section, and there will be an entry for NKS Explorer.
