How do I address startup problems after upgrading from Mathematica 3.0 to Mathematica 4.0?
 When upgrading Mathematica® 3.0 to Mathematica 4.0, there may be problems with the installation of the Math fonts that can cause startup errors. For example, http://support.wolfram.com/mathematica/systems/windows/nt/startupfonts.html You should do the following. | | Delete all the Math* fonts in the Fonts Control Panel (using the Fonts applet in Control Panel). |
| | Using a command prompt window and not an Explorer window, look in the system font directory and verify that all files have been removed. |
| | Using the Fonts applet in Control Panel, install the Math* fonts in . (Be sure to select the Copy fonts to Fonts folder option.) |
