Can Tomcat 4.0 be used with webMathematica?
Tomcat 4.0 can be used as a servlet container for webMathematica. To do so, it is necessary to update your web.xml file, and obtain a new version of J/Link. | | We have provided updated files for both the Windows and Linux/Solaris platforms that work with Tomcat 4.0. |
| | Once you have downloaded the appropriate file, remove the or extension and place it in the corresponding Tomcat folder. |
| 2. | Obtain the new J/Link distribution. |
| | If you do not update your version of J/Link then Java Object References will not work correctly. For more advanced webMathematica web-sites, these are an important and powerful extension mechanism. Basic webMathematica sites for calculating and plotting will work correctly with the version of J/Link that ships with webMathematica. |
| | This can be unpacked and then installed into the appropriate Mathematica application. |
| | In order to make the J/Link classes available to Tomcat you need to copy the file and the directory into the webMathematica layout. |
| | This is a sufficient installation for J/Link. After this webMathematica should be able to run correctly with Tomcat 4.0. |
