How do I reset my Finance Platform licensing?

You may want to reset Finance Platform’s licensing information if you used the incorrect activation information to activate your copy or are upgrading to the professional version. If you are not using a license server, Finance Platform stores licensing in a file called mathpass. After removing or renaming the mathpass file, Finance Platform asks for new activation information.

Locate your mathpass file by evaluating it in Finance Platform:

$PasswordFile

This prints out the location of the mathpass file on your computer.

If you cannot evaluate $PasswordFile, then you can find it on your computer in any of these directories:

On Windows, the mathpass file may be located at:

  • C:\ProgramData\Mathematica\Licensingmathpass
  • C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Mathematica\Licensingmathpass

where <user> is your username on the computer.

Navigate to this file. This file may be in a hidden folder on your computer. You may need to enable your account to see hidden files to navigate to the mathpass file.

Rename the mathpass file to something like mathpassold or mathpassbackup. Finance Platform will not be able to find the file and will ask you for new activation information when it is restarted.
