Installing a Single-Machine Copy of Mathematica 6.0 on Mac OS X (Downloadable Machine-Generic License)

1.

Quit Mathematica if it is running.

2.

Click Download to download Mathematica 6.

3.

When the download is complete, double-click the file icon to extract the file. Your system should extract the files for you. If you have trouble extracting the files, please contact Technical Support.

A new window appears on your screen. Drag the Mathematica 6 icon to the location on your hard drive where you want to install it. When all files have been copied, double-click the icon on your hard drive to launch the program.

Mathematica starts up and the front end password dialog box appears. Select Single Machine and enter your name, organization, and password in the text fields. Your password is provided on the final download page. You will also receive an email containing your password at the email address registered with Wolfram Research.

 

Click OK when you are done.

A registration dialog box appears. Click the Web button to open your web browser to your customized registration page.

This completes the installation, and Mathematica is now ready to use.
