How do I fix multiple installed copies of the Mathematica fonts?

Open the Fonts Control Panel.

Start > Settings > Control Panel > Fonts

There should be 5 kinds of Math fonts (Math1 - Math5) and 4 varieties of each font (regular, Bold, Mono, and Mono Bold) making 20 Math fonts total. If multiple copies of any of these 20 fonts exist, then the extra copies should be removed. Multiple copies of the fonts may prevent the Mathematica® front end from starting properly. If you have run Mathematica in this session, you will need to restart your machine to unlock the fonts.
