How do I reactivate Mathematica 14.0 if activating by sign in does not work?

After clicking Continue in the Wolfram Product Activation dialog, some users of Mathematica 14.0 (or earlier versions) who try to reactivate their already installed product through sign in may encounter that:

  • no browser window opens and
  • an incorrect URL is displayed when following the Browser Didn’t Open link.

This issue is due to a faulty paclet that was recently installed on your machine by an automatic online update.

Mathematica 14.1 is not affected by this issue. We therefore recommend updating Mathematica to its most recent version and activating it by sign in.

If instead you prefer to continue to use Mathematica 14.0, you can remove the CloudObject-14.1.2 paclet from your system by deleting its folder

  • Windows: C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Mathematica\Paclets\Repository\CloudObject-14.1.2
  • macOS: ~/Library/Mathematica/Paclets/Repository/CloudObject-14.1.2
  • Linux: ~/.Mathematica/Paclets/Repository/CloudObject-14.1.2

from your machine, then reactivate the product by sign in.

Alternatively, Mathematica 14.0 can still be activated using

If necessary, contact Wolfram Customer Support for help with either of these two methods.
