Windows

Programs in Windows can be uninstalled in the Control Panel from the Start menu.

To ensure that the Wolfram System is completely uninstalled on your computer, remove the following directories as well. Please back up any documents that you want to keep from these directories:

Note: Mathematica directories are used as an example. For other Wolfram products, replace “Mathematica” with the name of the appropriate Wolfram product.

Windows Vista, 7, 8, and 8.1

  • C:\ProgramData\Mathematica
  • C:\Program Files\Wolfram Research\Mathematica
  • C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Mathematica
  • Here, <user> is your username.

These files may be hidden on your computer. You may need to enable your account to see hidden files.

Mac

To uninstall the Wolfram System, please remove the following directories. Please back up any documents that you want to keep from these directories:

  • /Library/Mathematica/
  • ~/Library/Mathematica/
  • /Applications/Mathematica.app/

These files may be hidden on your computer. To navigate to a hidden folder, open the Finder application. Press Command + Shift + G to open a file search dialog and enter “~/Library/Mathematica/”. Finder opens the hidden folder.

Linux

To uninstall the Wolfram System, please remove the following directories. Please back up any documents that you want to keep from these directories:

  • /usr/share/Mathematica/
  • ~/.Mathematica/Licensing/mathpass
  • /usr/local/Wolfram/Mathematica/
